Pacific Harbour is a small yet thriving community - and close to the capitol city, Suva.  Pacific Harbour has small town coastal charm combined with many goods and services: banking, a post office of course, a police post, two service stations - one with a good car mechanic, a grocery store, a liquor store, clothing shops and gift shops, a fishing tackle shop.  There are a number of friendly restaurants and coffee houses, a scrumptious ice cream parlor, internet cafes, a night club and a variety of small resorts.  There's even a water slide swimming pool.  The Pacific Harbour Multi-cultural School (Kindergarten through Year 8) has a new school complex under construction.  A medical clinic and a pharmacy are opening in Pacific Harbour this year.  Fiji's capitol city, Suva, is 45 minutes to the east of Pacific Harbour with extensive shopping, banking and professional services.  Suva has two hospitals, a number of primary and secondary schools, a university and a technological institute.  30 minutes to the east of Suva, the Nausori Airport serves the Suva environs.  Besides domestic flights, Nausori Airport has international flights to other South Pacific island nations and to Australia and New Zealand.
