Life in Pacific Harbour
-
Pacific Harbour is a beautiful coastal resort town on Fiji's main island, named Viti Levu. From Fiji's International Airport in Nadi, you drive southeast on Queens Highway along Fiji's famous Coral Coast. You travel away from the crowded tourist areas and through the heartland of Fijian villages and small seaside resorts, arriving in two to three hours at Pacific Harbour, Fiji's (little known) vacation home paradise.

Pacific Harbour has everything that vacation homeowners are looking for - rapidly appreciating real estate values plus more activities in one locale than anywhere else in Fiji. There is a spectacular Robert Trent Jones designed Championship Golf Course. There's a 100-acre inland lagoon opening onto long beautiful waterways that wind through the residential estates and past the golf course out to the Pacific Ocean - a boater's dream. There are miles of sandy beach and exquisite swimming and snorkeling. There is world-class surfing, kayaking, sailing, deep-sea fishing, and river rafting expeditions to remote villages and waterfalls. Plus there is some of the most gorgeous scuba diving and snorkeling in the world on the famous Beqa ("Benga") Island Barrier Reef just 15 minutes offshore from Pacific Harbour. Pacific Harbour is a small yet thriving community - and close to the capitol city, Suva. Pacific Harbour has small town coastal charm combined with many goods and services: banking, a post office of course, a police post, two service stations - one with a good car mechanic, a grocery store, a liquor store, clothing shops and gift shops, a fishing tackle shop. There are a number of friendly restaurants and coffee houses, a scrumptious ice cream parlor, internet cafes, a night club and a variety of small resorts. There's even a water slide swimming pool. The Pacific Harbour Multi-cultural School (Kindergarten through Year 8) has a new school complex under construction. A medical clinic and a pharmacy are opening in Pacific Harbour this year. Fiji's capitol city, Suva, is 45 minutes to the east of Pacific Harbour with extensive shopping, banking and professional services. Suva has two hospitals, a number of primary and secondary schools, a university and a technological institute. 30 minutes to the east of Suva, the Nausori Airport serves the Suva environs. Besides domestic flights, Nausori Airport has international flights to other South Pacific island nations and to Australia and New Zealand.
